It appears that an L.A. synagogue was attacked by a gunman, earlier today. Two people were shot, when a gunman entered the synagogue at about 6:20 a.m. Read the full story on MSNBC.
The above story was very disheartening to read. My thoughts go out to those who were injured, their families, and the synagogue members. Please daven/pray for them.
This autumn photo was recently taken by me, locally.
I am still feeling out of sorts. It feels as if a jackhammer is pounding inside my head. I have not had a fever, but don’t feel up to normal par, so I am not sure if it is the flu. I am resting, drinking liquids, taking extra vitamin D, and have been pushing soup down when I can. Whatever it is, it isn’t fun.
I have so many reviews to write, but my body won’t allow me to sit down and take the time to do it. I hope to be back in the full swing of blogging by the end of the weekend.
Take care, everyone.

Please work on feeling better. Then you will have full energy to write your reviews!
The LA shooting is scary, but we shouldn’t let it get to us. Meaning, we shouldn’t stop going to Jewish buildings, just get more security if necessary. One can only worry so much.

Leora…thank you.
I agree…and incidents like this one never prevent me from going to Jewish buildings.

Horrible incidents like the LA shooting are taking place all over the world and if we would stay away from Jewish buildings, especially a synagogue because of them, I think we would give up/give in and lose our Jewish identity, we’d let fear take over.
Take care of yourself, JW. Your feeling this way may also be because you are tired, and a reaction to the decision to take this big step. Thinking and contemplating is tiring, you know, and the body can take only so much.

Oh, I don’t plan on staying away from synagogue or any Jewish related buildings. I am a Jew who believes in the community and interacting with it.
If fear were a force in my life, I wouldn’t have my blog. I am who I am, a Jew, a human being, a part of the whole, both the whole as a planet, and a whole as part of my Jewish identity within the Jewish community.

You said it, dear JW. I feel exactly the same way and will always feel that way.

It takes courage to simply be a Jew.
