Jew Wishes On: Monday Musings-July 27, 2009

I am a bit late in posting…I usually like to post earlier in the morning. I was busy browsing in a few book stores. I bought some new books to read this morning.

The Box From Braunau: In Search of My Father’s War, by Jan Elvin

Hiding in the Spotlight, by Greg Dawson: A Musical Prodigy’s Story of Survival 1941-1948

Saving What Remains, by Livia Bitton Jackson

The Game of Oppposites, by Norman Lebrecht…this intrigued me, as it is written about an “unnamed country at the end of a world war”. The jacket states that the book details labor camps, those who ignored the fact there was a labor camp under their noses, etc., making it sound as if it could apply to the Holocaust. We shall see where the pages take me.

Israel is Real, by Rich Cohen

On another note, I am catching up with mundane chores, such as doing laundry from my trip, and other assorted nonsense. The dryer is beeping, so I better go take my clothes out of it. I hope you are all having a nice day.

  1. Ah, the mundanities of life. Necessary, but ultimately, not very inspiring!

Your books sound very interesting – looking forward to the reviews!

  2. And I’m a bit late in commenting.
More interesting book reviews coming then.

    • Thanks for stopping by, Ilana.
