Jew Wishes On: Sky Watching and Shabbat Songs

Once again it’s time for Skywatch Friday. I love the sky, love the varied tones, cloud formations, and how the weather affects the look of the sky on any given minute or hour of the day.

The clouds in the photo above are what caught my attention.

I liked the stark blueness of the sky in the photo above.

Shabbat Shalom, everyone!

The Sabbath Song (sung so beautifully).

The Shabbat Table Companion is an excellent Shabbat home music resource.

  1. May you have clear skies. Nice to post a Shabbat song.
I hope the haredim here will stop rioting so Jerusalem can have a peaceful Sabbath.

    Shabbat shalom.

  2. Dina: Thank you.

I hope you can have a peaceful Sabbath.

    Shabbat Shalom.

  3. Nice links; thanks a lot.

  4. Lovely, lovely skies. I really like the portrait format of the first one too.

    Shabbat Shalom

  5. Poor Dina, wishing for peace!

I love the bottom of your top photo. But I wouldn’t be so attracted to it if it didn’t have its top.

And the blue skies in the second one are striking. The vegetation looks like puzzle pieces poking at the sky.

  6. Thanks, Ilana.

  7. Rachel, thank you. xo

  8. Thank you, Leora.

  9. Leora: I know, poor Dina.

    Thank you!

  10. Have a very good Friday XXX Don

  14. Simply wonderful!

    • Thank you Bettyl.

  15. Thanks everybody. Actually it was poor Jerusalem. A million shekels of damage and 250 trash bins burned, etc. etc.

  16. I’m sorry, Dina…it never ends…

  17. Shalom to you all. I am the composer/lyricist of ‘The Sabbath Song” you posted a link to. I would very much like to translate this song into Ivrit…….it will be recorded by a Choir in Jerusalem and money raised for a worthwhile cause in Israel. Since my Hebrew is not proficient enough for a good translation, if anyone would like to volunteer and has a flair for poetry or lyrics in Hebrew, please contact me as soon as possible. Shabbat Shalom to you all.

    • Shalom, Loretta! L’Shanah Tova! Thanks for visiting.

  18. L’Shana Tovah to you all. It is a pleasure to visit your site, I am glad to have found it. May your New Year be filled with health, happiness, laughter and joy.

    Sincerely,
    Loretta

    • Thank you, Loretta.
