I was in a book store earlier today…one of my favorite places to relax on the weekend. I love browsing the books, love the jacket design appeal, the textures, the way they are positioned on a book shelf or on top of a table, and like the scent of them. It feels as if I am visiting old friends, friends I can sip coffee with or have a cup of tea with, and friends I can relax with.
I purchased five books today.
Two of the books are non-fiction::
Until Our Last Breath, by Michael Bart and Laurel Corona
Jack and Rochelle, by Jack and Rochelle Sutin
Three of the books are fiction:
The Empress of Weehawken, by Irene Dische
A Tranquil Star, by Primo Levi
The Genizah at the House of Shepher, by Tamar Yellin
As I read the books, I will write my thoughts about them in a new and separate post for each one. For now, my stack of “to-read-books” has expanded, and is growing taller. When I walk through my den or my bedroom, my friends await me. It is a very comforting feeling.

Have you read The Genizah at the House of Shepher, by Tamar Yellin? It looks quite good.

It does look good.
