French President Nicolas Sarkozy found himself defending a plan that would reform France’s schools system,  allowing  child victims of the Holocaust to be honored by ten-year olds.

He feels that during the last year of primary school, each child should “adopt” the memory of one of the 11,000 Jewish children killed in France during the Holocaust.  This would include the student learning about the death of the child who perished, and learning about their family and background.
