Two can coexist, side by side, two symbols of religion can live daily within a few feet of each other in peace, acceptance and tolerance, acknowledgements within the spiritual realm. For within the Great War, Christians and Jews, both were in the military, and should be honored for their service to their country.
All those who were in the military, all the nurses, all those who stayed at home and supported the war effort (no matter their religion, religious beliefs or non-religious beliefs) should be honored.
In Oxford, England, “the cross of the war memorial and a menorah coexist”.
