Jew Wishes On: Lovingly Ever After

Jewish Cemeteries, I like walking through them, like feeling a sense of community within the headstones of Jews from the past, lives that once were, whether relations to me or not. I leave stones on very old headstones of those I don’t know, so it shows that someone has recently stopped by.

This particular photograph include headstones of two of my great, great grandparents.

One thing about this photo that completely touches me to my core, is the fact that my great-great grandfather’s headstone, is leaning inward, towards the one belonging to my great-great grandmother. The visual has a loving and caring feel to it, in my opinion, and is emotional for me to look at. The other gravestones stand upright, but G-G Grandfather is there, by G-G Grandmother’s side, an icon of love and protection.

I’m at peace in settings like this, the headstones of days past evoke a sense of tranquility for me.

Photograph taken by my friend Charles…thank you so very much, words are totally inadequate, in order to truly convey my gratitude.

Jew Wishes…Peace to you all.

  1. Oh my, this has come something of a big surprise! I certainly recognise the photo … it brought some memories of the day back to me too… One day you will see these stones first hand, of that I feel sure. I too enjoy looking thru` graveyards now, there is a sense of peace there not found in everyday life…

  2. Hi Charles…you must know how grateful I am for you and Andy…words can’t begin to express my gratitude, dear friend. Thank you so much, again…

Yes, I will get there, one day, and you and Andy will be there with me, next time.

I know..cemeteries are a place of peace for me.

  3. That’s a great photo – Charles, you took it? I wish I knew more of this story.

Cemetaries are places of peace for me too and during my life I’ve spent quite a bit of time wandering around them and wondering who those people were. My father and mother too used to do that as well.

I do hope that you get a chance to visit that cemerary and your ancestors.

    Peace today.

  4. Hi Ruby, sweetie.

I love cemeteries…as you can see…they bring me peaceful solitude, reflection, and a sense of who and why, I am who I am. Make sense?

Thank you, I hope I get there, too. I need to touch those ancestors of mine…in person. But, for now, the photos Charles took, will more than substitute. I speak to my ancestors daily.

Hugs and Peace to you, RubyS.
