My Jewish ancestors, the blood flowing through me, is rooted in Shilel/Shillel/Silale, Lithuania. There are fragments of information that I have, bits and pieces found throughout the years…suspended in time.
Like laundry hanging
out to dry
on a snowy day
suspended in time…
frigid…
stark…
frozen fabric…
tapestries…
held tight…
wooden pins.
memories…
scents…
in threads…
hidden…
lives…
in limbo…
left hanging…
life’s tones..
against…
stark whiteness…
history…
left to dry…
wrinkle…
and wither…
in time’s
hidden tapestry…
